Εmployment service firebombed (Athens, 12/2/2008)

"Eleftherotipia" newspaper mentions that around 10:00 in the night, the OAED ("Manpower employment service, for unemployed people) were totally damaged, after a group of unknown persons hurled molotov cocktails against the building's ground floor. 10 vehicles of the fire brigades managed to put out the fire, at 11:45. The "anti"terror squad is leading the investigation.

The attacks against the OAED on Kallirois street on Monday 11/2 and at Interamerican offices in Alimos, on Tuesday 12/2 is our own contribution to the dialog concerning the pension system reforms. The new regulations come to fulfill all those measures of reorganization of the labor relations that have been imposed during the last years and won't stop advancing. From the productivity increasing and the work-time stretching to the continuous skill-learning and the employee-renting, everything promises our total submission to work.
We do not intend to tolerate with it. And this does not simply mean an opposition to this re-organizationary assault, but the opposition to work itself. From the diseases and the "accidents" that eliminate those that do the most devalued jobs, to the repression by every boss or head-chief, and from the everyday loss of our creativity and time to the production of a sick morality, everything work provide us with need to have a response.

We listen to the agony of all those that go on a strike and take it to the streets with a temper to fight for their lives and we stand in solidarity to all those that advance in real ruptures, overcoming partiality and moderation. On the contrary, we confront as enemies the parties' and trade unions' officials. Its them that safeguard the conciliation and the cease-fire imposing a limitation of every mobilization within the legal framework, that they consciously encourage, the adhesion to the social provision politics, glorifying every previous form of exploration, and finally acting suspensive in every option of a growing confrontation, accompanying the police forces in their work"...

Today, when many are those that seek to subvert the previous facts of their so-called insurance, we see also another possibility to shake off the illusions. We want to draw some eye-sights off the usual everyday life of theirs, to inflame the class hatred, to impose actively the project of attack against the dominant order.

*Note by directactiongr: Giannis Tamtakos was an anarchist worker, active thoughout his life in the greek workers movement. He was accused as a leader in the events of May 1936, during the general strike in Thessaloniki, and then sent to prison and exile, but managed to escape. He remained active in the antiauthoritarian struggles. He died on 4/1/2008, a hundred years old.
