"As a «message» from the prisons, is estimated by the police the bomb that exploded outside the house of the Kerkyra (Corfu) prison head-manager, last night.
The fact that the device was made of dynamite with a slow-burning wick, made the police turn down the possibility of it being a terrorist strike, and targeting investigations towards common crime suspects, with reasons to warn or revenge the prison manager.
At the time of the explosion, the prison manager, his wife and their grand-daughter was inside the house but didn't got any injuries. Though, mass material damages were caused to the residence of the prison manager, located only 200 metres away from the island's high security prisons, as well as close to local houses and shops.
