Military marble busts vandalised (Karydia Pellas, 16/7/2008

From a local media delirium in greek, here: http://www.verianet.gr/content/view/6517/304/lang,el/

Briefly, unknown persons "decapitated" the busts of the "Macedonomachoi" (Army and agents of the greek state invading Macedonia, part of the turkish dominions at the beginning of the 20th century, where there were some strong greek populations) "Tellos Agras" and "Kapetan Migkas", in the village of Karydia, Pella. Note that this vandalism came only a few days before the fair of st. Ilias day (Ilinden), a symbol in the local national-liberation struggles of 1903, where populations of Macedonia, Southern Bulgaria and Thrace revolted against the Sultan's dominion.
